Google’s New Penalty Will Kill Your Ads (Unless You Fix This)
Google just dropped a BIG Ads Quality Update, and if your landing pages aren’t up to par, your ads are about to get throttled.
Here’s the deal:
Google has introduced a new system to predict if a user will struggle to find what they’re looking for after clicking your ad. If they do?
Your ads will show less frequently, and your costs will rise.
Here’s a real-world example of what gets penalized:
❌ BAD:
• User clicks on a Search Ad.
• They can’t find the login page, checkout, or key action.
• They hit the back button and leave = Google sees this as a bad experience.
✅ GOOD:
• User clicks an ad and immediately finds the offer & action (sign-up, purchase, etc.).
• No confusion, no delays = Google rewards your ad with more visibility.
What This Means for You
If your landing page doesn’t match intent and make the next step obvious, you’re losing money.
More friction = fewer conversions = higher costs.
How to fix it:
Audit your landing pages today.
Make sure your key action (login, checkout, sign-up) is immediately visible.
If you’re running Google Ads, this is not optional anymore.
